Musica Britannica
For the seventh time this year, from 2 to 11 August 2024, we welcome all musicians over the age of 14 who are interested in performing the orchestral and chamber music repertoire of earlier ages in a „period”, or „stylistically correct” way. The main aim of this year’s course, with an English theme, is to develop a possibly „authentic” string orchestral sound, small ensembles and consort ensembles with singers, but as is tradition, there will also be improvisation, harpsichord, continuo and flute lessons.
This year, under the guidance of Laura Dümpelmann, enterprising musicians will be able to learn to play the flute and consort, as well as Renaissance double-reed instruments (crumhorn, schalmei). Of course, all other instruments are welcome in chamber groups. We also offer singers the unique opportunity to try their hand at performing early madrigal repertoire and other chamber music with instrumentalists.
A limited number of historical instruments will be available during the course!
